Competition Sponsorship
Dear SFA moderators/administrators
There is a possibility that I could arrange a few prizes to use as awards for a competition or 2. I do some consulting work for a few Hong Kong 5 star hotels and I could possibly arrange a free night or 2 or free buffet lunches or dinners.
The hotels are usually ok to give stuff away as long as they see perseeved value in return by the way of advertising or the likes.
If possible, I would like to be able to contact the hotels, requesting the above prizes and be able to show them what they would get in return. However, I am unsure what, if anything, SFA would be prepared to offer.
If you guys are interested, let me know so we can see if we can work something out.
Cheers,
DSOP

I could place a banner add on the front page for a specified period linked to their own site.

Hi Skywoolf,
Thanks for the speedy reply. I will have a chat to the GM of the Le Meridien Cyberport Hotel to see if he will part with a room or 2[good guy, usually happy to help] and the GM of the Intercontinental Grand Stanford hotel in East TST to see if they will part with some lunches or dinners [no chance of rooms as occupancy is normally 95%+]
Any prizes they offer will need to be linked to a competition of some sort. Usually no dramas, Have been able to offer prizes before from these hotels for various other comps and it has never posed a problem.
If possible, could you give me a rough number of SFA members, broken down by country? the reason I ask this is because the GM will be interested to see if, by offering a free room he will gain new business from local members and possibly from members of SFA from surrounding countries. If not possible, no need to stress, should still be able to wrangle it.
Cheers,
DSOP

Membership is currently at just under 5,000 (4000+ inactive members were deleted recently).
The actual number of visitors will be approximately 10 times that number as normally only 1% or less of regular visitors register. The banner would be seen roughly 30,000 times per month.
I would estimate that about 40% of visitors are from Hong Kong. with the second largest group being from the Philippines.
The competition could be named after the hotel or it could be just sponsored by the hotel.
Yellowfin should make the final decisions as he is the site owner.

Thanks Dsop. Excellent idea, i'm sure the members will appreciate any gift and reason to compete.
Any form of sponsorship would be great for the site and members.
Thanks again.
Yellowfin.

Dsop, fantastic!
That would certainly encourage good numbers at fishing comps.

Hi All,
So far I have been able to secure a complimentary dinner buffet for 2 people at Le Meridien Cyberport hotel's restaurant, "Prompt". Value HK$1,176 [comp room may still be possible?]
The hotel will send the relevant voucher to me.
It is only early days, and I reckon I can drum up a few more prizes.
