Maybe you are right. My comment is from my own perspective which is pretty much "Yes great, very interesting but I will never get there". If were a place I might conceivably visit I would be asking questions

I missed this report the first time around...no names mentioned, but it must have been bumped down the list as usual by one of our "friends" from a certain location 1100KM south east of HK !

Stunning pictures, and has to be the first ever salty report to actually give me a boner !!! (in a non-gay, "I wanna go fishing now" kind of way, of course!)

Stunning Tarpon Kman!

I wonder if it just got bumped down the list so quickly. I know Kman said he could PM details but sounds if the guide's web site does deserve a public post. I'd certainly be interested and then would be in a better position to follow up with questions. One of the best posts of the year in my opinion.

see you next week

Oh, and Harry, you're not going all "Tony Davis Patrick" on us, are you??
We'll all have to have a whip round for the tweed jacket, wicker basket tackle box and split cane rods for you at this rate !!

Lurid was right, the infighting has started !!!!

Hi kman

The variety of fish sounds great and would be sthg I'd be very interested in.

Could you give me an idea of the cost of the guide service for the number of days you were there and does the guide supply the gear or were you responsible for your own fishing tackle?

Cheers

bean

Coffeebean

The guide is Brian Esposito. Email address is captbrianesposito@gmail.com. Rates are around US$550 / day so not cheap but believe or not, he's actually one of the cheaper guides around the Keys. Some are upwards of US$700 / day. Brian can supply all equipment regardless if your poison is spin or fly.

It took me over 10 years to finally realize my dream of fishing the Keys, so never say never. Life's short, fish hard.

Cheers
Kman

Thanks for that info kman

It is a lot of money but I've been looking at charters in and around the keys and they do go to $800-900/day so relatively speaking thats a good deal u got there - plus from the piccies it looked like u had the time of ur life

I need to save a few bucks...

in the meantime, keep on

Great report kman! Florida is a trip I can afford since I live in Toronto and my uncle live in Fort Lauderdale. I'm hoping to take that trip sooner than later.

Brian Esposito sounds familiar. I think I may have seen him featured on fishing shows as well as on the Pro Tarpon Tour.

Congrats on the 17 species
