hi carpa,
These big head carp...do they fall for bollies etc? Not heard of them before but they sound big. Is there a chance of hooking one while after "normal carp"? Not sure if my tackle can handle a big fish like that.......be fun to try though...
cheers

No None at all!
They are plankton feeders, and feed in the upper water layers, not sure how true this is , but aparently only the Juviniles can be caught with bait, the rest are foul hooked! In which I have no interest in

hi Harry, Carpa,
Thanks for the information. Relief to be honest, be scared of hooking into one of these beast. Do you guys know if PC has ever been stocked? or are all the fish been there from day one? Any ideas what sort of size carp in these waters? Leaving on Tuesday, heard it is hot over there....btw, does the heat put the fish off feeding?
cheers

Look up some history on the cove, it was in fact a bay in the sea that was was damed off, drained and filled via fresh water catchments, so yes its a stocked pond, however that was 50 years ago, as to size of the carp, it will be nice to find out, if that is at all possible, who will ever know?
As for being hot here, you are comming at the right time of year, as latter it will be HOT!

Hi All,
basically only 2 weeks left of the season so I am planning on venturing out to Plover Cove either this Sunday or next, shall be my first trip out there, but have heard good things.
As it is warming up; is morning or afternoon better suited?
Looking at cathcing saratoga/arrowana and a few tilapia and whatever else is hungry. If keen to join lets arrange something as not much time left for the season, perhaps the carp guys can introduce a few more to the charms of carp angling?
Cheers,
DSOP
