I forgot to buy braid and dacron so I'll just have it ship to Davao. I will be sending them my old rod and reel also for repair.

Hi Freeman,
Rainier was in Malaysia when I went there last Saturday. I forgot to bring my camera so I wasn't able to take pictures as well.

SALAMAT KARAJAW for the post
This post helped me out BIG TIME
my wife and me will go in the end of November to buy all the things we need
to go fishing in the waters around Siargao Island (Pilar, naked Island, ...)
I am planning to buy 2 spinning rods for LAPU LAPU = bass
2 casting rods for night fishing from Naked Island
and 1 one boat rod for some small trolling = hila hila as this interests me not so much because a banca is too small to reel in the big ones and to be honest it can be very tiring, as i heared some stories
If anyone has tips about baits and techniques PLEASE send me your experiences
I am planning to buy also a depthmeter if someone knows where I can bet this (EAGLE Y) so I can explore and find good spots

HI Noel,
Good to hear the post proved to be useful to you.
Unfortunately, I have not fished Siargao yet so I will let the more seasoned anglers in this forum fill you in on that.
What does Salamat Karahaw mean?

Hi Noel,
So you are in Surigao already? Good for you man, I hear fishing is still good over there. Got pics? Would love to see them. I have been reading this gentleman's blog about the place http://www.coconutstudio.com/index.htm. Im not sure if he's an angler but he has kept a very good record of what the locals catch over there.

TCE tackle shop rules
for pictures of Siargao Fishing just look for the international game fishing competition site in PILAR 2008, you can find many pictures there.
The prices for boats are between 2000 - 4000 for a whole day with gasoline included and a boatman.
Siargao Island is an adventure destination so don't expect too much LUXE, how ever there is a high price and class resort.
Warm regards, MARAJAW KARAJAW
